Project "The Rebels Are Coming" – Set Design
About this project
I was brought in to help with set design for the city of Glendale, Ohio’s quescentennial outdoor production of “The Rebels are Coming”. This was a civil war period piece play. Part of my work included mapping off the outdoor space. As part of that project, I made the suggestion to move the location to allow for better site lines for the audience, which was approved. The two set pieces were double-duty pieces to reduce the amount of backdrop panels used for most of the production. Construction drawings were produced and the panels were manufactured at Sure-Wood Forest Products. I also designed a period appropriate ticket booth for the event.
Skills involved
The design were created in Adobe Illustrator. Having studied technical theater in college, this was an exciting project to be asked to participate in.

The panel set pieces ended up working very well for the production.
